1.Annual Vendor Selection:
- At the beginning of each academic year, the school, in collaboration with the Management, School PTA Executive Committee, and the School Management Committee (SMC), will recommend a designated school bus transportation vendor.
- Utilizing the school’s recommended transportation service is mandatory for all students, unless parents choose to arrange alternative transportation as per the guidelines.
- Parents who choose to arrange their own transportation must inform the school administration in writing.
- Students using alternative transportation will be recorded as non-school bus users in school records.
- Transportation fees are to be paid directly to the designated service provider.
- The school will act solely as a facilitator, ensuring the safety and well-being of students without any financial obligation.
- The PTA/Transport Committee will monitor the quality and safety of transportation services.
- As per Maharashtra government guidelines, the school will establish a Transport Committee including the Principal, PTA representative, bus administrator, police official, motor vehicle inspector, education inspector, and other relevant authorities to oversee transportation-related issues.
- All school buses must be equipped with functional GPS and CCTV cameras to ensure student safety.
- Each bus will have a well-trained female attendant, responsible for supervising students, especially ensuring the safety of female students.
- Buses will be fitted with speed governors, emergency alarms, and siren mechanisms for enhanced safety.
- The school will conduct training sessions at the start of each academic year for drivers and attendants, focusing on the use of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency protocols.
- School buses must adhere to government-mandated design and safety standards, including emergency exits, proper seating, and the display of school contact information on the bus exterior.
- Smoking or alcohol consumption by school bus staff is strictly prohibited.
- Bus doors must remain closed while the vehicle is in motion to ensure safety.
- Any changes or cancellations in transportation arrangements must be communicated to the school and the service provider at least 30 days in advance.
- The transport provider will be held liable for any accidents, negligence, or mishaps occurring during transportation. The school will ensure due diligence but will not assume responsibility for incidents outside its direct control.
- This policy aims to provide a safe, efficient, and transparent transportation system, aligning with Maharashtra state regulations while prioritizing student well-being.
